Gaspard Maîtrepierre was born in 1990. He lives and works between Paris and Normandy.

A self-taught artist, he draws from a vast repertoire of myths and theories dealing with the origins of humanity and ancestral knowledge to compose a bestiary where Mayan kings encounter strange reptilian gods, Guantanamo prisoners form a round of puppets and mask-wearing animals reveal their true nature to humans through their reflection in a broken mirror.

Gaspard Maîtrepierre est né en 1990. Il vit et travaille entre Paris et la Normandie.

Artiste autodidacte, il puise dans un vaste répertoire de mythes et de théories traitant des origines de l’humanité et des connaissances ancestrales pour composer un bestiaire où les rois mayas rencontrent d’étranges dieux reptiliens, où les prisonniers de Guantanamo forment une ronde de marionnettes et où les animaux portant des masques révèlent leur vraie nature aux humains par leur reflet dans un miroir brisé.
