Galerie John Ferrère is pleased to present its new exhibition Fahrenheit, bringing together the works of nine emerging and established international artists.
One of the oldest units of temperature measurement, Fahrenheit proposes itself as a rational statement on a subjective datum. Temperature predicted, displayed, felt, suggested, braved, mastered ?
Paved with signs and beacons, the climate nevertheless prevails through the incredible nimbleness of its evolving movements.
Odorless, Inaudible, Invisible. And a fundamental condition for all artistic production. Indeed, historically speaking, the climate has governed both techniques and stylistics, creating and deepening the interest of the contrast occurring with our contemporary practices. Today, the fluctuation of time and climates has been downplayed by a trend towards instantaneity—both exhausting and exhilarating—as if time had to be suspended in order to never fade away. Formulated by abstraction, it is also synonymous with a search for the anti-immediate, in the retreats of so many mediums. From this play of protean reflections, the topos of adaptability
strives—not to insinuate an invitation to stoicism—but to account for a consensual breath of being for being’s sake.
Fahrenheit is measured by the degree of a factual Manifestation of the compromises that inhabit the artistic climates of our era.

La Galerie John Ferrère a le plaisir de vous présenter sa nouvelle exposition Fahrenheit réunissant les travaux de neuf artistes internationaux émergents et établis.
Une des plus anciennes unités de mesure de température, Fahrenheit se propose telle une affirmation rationnelle sur une donnée subjective. Température prévue, affichée, ressentie, suggérée, bravée, maîtrisée ?
Pavé de signalétiques et de balises, le climat prime pourtant par l’insolente légèreté de ses mouvements mutants.
Inodore, Inaudible, Invisible. Et condition principielle de toutes productions artistiques. En effet, historiquement parlant, il s’observe que le climat régit à la fois les techniques et les stylistiques, créant et creusant, l’intérêt du contraste opéré avec nos pratiques contemporaines. Aujourd’hui, la fluctuation du temps et des climats s’est minimalisé auprès d’une tendance de l’instantanéité – tant épuisante qu’exaltante – comme s’il fallait suspendre ce temps pour ne jamais le voir s’évanouir. Formulée par l’abstraction, elle se veut également le synonyme d’une recherche de l’anti-immédiat, dans les retraites de tant de médiums. De ce jeu de reflets protéiformes, le topos de l’adaptabilité s’attèle – non pas à insinuer une invitation au stoïcisme – mais à rendre compte d’un souffle consensuel d’être pour être.
Fahrenheit se mesure au degré d’une Manifestation factuelle des compromis qui habitent les climats artistiques de nos ères.
